How we handle your drawings and data.

Last updated October 20, 2026

Qualifying a supplier means handling your drawings, specifications, prices and test results. This is how we treat them.

Before anything is shared

  • A mutual confidentiality agreement is signed before drawings or specifications change hands.
  • For a first conversation, describe the part in general terms. Please don’t attach drawings to an inquiry email.

During an engagement

  • Your information is used only for the engagement it was provided for.
  • Access is limited to the people working on that engagement.
  • Laboratories, toolmakers or specialists receive information only with your agreement, and only under confidentiality obligations.
  • A candidate supplier sees what you authorize: typically the drawing, specifications and the requirements matrix you approve. It does not see other suppliers’ quotes or results.

What never becomes public

Your drawings, test results, prices, part numbers and supplier names never appear in DSQP, in Insights articles, in marketing material or in case studies without your written permission. The published protocol is generic by design and contains no client data. Any case study is anonymized and approved by you before it is used.

The supplier’s side

A shop that improves its controls during a qualification owns that capability. Its supplier capability record may describe processes and controls in general terms; buyer names, drawings and results stay out of it unless the buyer agrees in writing.

At the end

When an engagement ends, we return or delete your materials on request, except records we must keep by law or that the statement of work says we keep (for example, an agreed copy of the qualification dossier).
